Aggies at Texas Monthly BBQ Festival

Texas A&M University became a sponsor of the Texas Monthly BBQ Festival in 2011, and because of our Texas Barbecue class and Barbecue Summer Camp efforts, we were asked to develop a booth that could serve as place for participants in the festival to come and ask us questions about barbecue. We mimicked the Apple Genius Bar concept where people can find answers to their questions about computers, gadgets, and software and named our booth the “BBQ Genius Counter.” Those who know us well know that we certainly are not geniuses, but we have fun when we go to the Texas Monthly BBQ Festival, and we have used the booth at other events, too.
