A group of Aggies involved in the Texas Barbecue program at Texas A&M University participated in the 7th Houston BBQ Festival, which was held in the Humble Civic Center Arena in Humble, Texas on Sunday, April 14, 2019. Barbecue Summer Camp, June 2016 version, photo and summary wrap up

The Barbecue Summer Camp, co-hosted by Foodways Texas and the Meat Science Section of the Department of Animal Science at Texas A&M University, was held on Friday, June 10th through Sunday, June 12th, 2016. The camp is coordinated by meat science educators, Davey Griffin, Ray Riley, and Jeff Savell, and activities were held at the Rosenthal Meat Center and O.D. For the fourth year in a row, Texas A&M University was one of the sponsors of the TMBBQ Fest, and Texas Barbecue faculty and students were in attendance at the festival on Sunday, September 14, 2014 in Austin. Aggies participate in Houston Barbecue Festival

We had the great pleasure of participating in the 2nd Houston Barbecue Festival, which was held at Reliant Park in Houston on Sunday, April 6, 2014. We took the BBQ Genius Counter set up, and eight of us traveled to Houston for the event: Davey Griffin, Michael Berto, Tyler Rosser, Clay Eastwood, Kaitlyn Porter, Katy Jo Nickelson, and Jackie Savell. Next Camp Brisket scheduled for January 10-11, 2014

We are happy to announce that the next Camp Brisket is scheduled for January 10-11, 2014 in College Station. This is a joint activity between the Meat Science Section of the Department of Animal Science at Texas A&M University and Foodways Texas. This two-day event specializes in the brisket, the cut best known as part of Texas Barbecue, and the cut that may be the hardest to consistently prepare correctly.
