Dr. Temple Grandin, professor of animal science at Colorado State University, recently received an honorary degree from Texas A&M University. During her time at Texas A&M University, the Department of Animal Science hosted a luncheon for her at the Equine Complex along with an opportunity for her to speak to faculty, staff, and students about some of her research on animal handling.

On previous trips to Texas A&M University, Dr. Grandin has expressed her love of Texas Barbecue, and with that in mind, we asked Wayne Mueller of Louie Mueller Barbecue, Taylor, Texas to cater the meal for the event. Wayne brought over beef brisket, pork loin, and sausage along with wonderful sides and cobbler for a crowd of about 100. Dr. Grandin loved everything, especially the brisket!

The photo above shows Wayne presenting Dr. Grandin with a special gift of an autographed apron, which reads, “Dr. Grandin, Congratulations & Happy Birthday from your BBQ friends @ Louie Muller!  Best Always, Wayne Mueller.” Thanks again to Wayne and his crew for helping to celebrate Dr. Grandin’s special days in College Station as she received her honorary degree!
