Barbecue Summer Camp, co-hosted by Foodways Texas and the Meat Science Section of the Department of Animal Science at Texas A&M University, was held on Friday, June 2nd through Sunday, June 4th, 2017.  The camp is coordinated by meat science educators, Davey Griffin, Ray Riley, and Jeff Savell. Camp Brisket, 2017 edition

The fifth Camp Brisket, a joint venture between Foodways Texas and the Meat Science Section of the Department of Animal Science at Texas A&M University, was held on January 6-7, 2017 at the Rosenthal Meat Center and the Beef Cattle Center at the O.D. Butler Animal Science Complex. Third Texas Barbecue Town Hall meeting held

Owners/operators and pitmasters from some of the leading barbecue restaurants throughout Texas participated in the third Texas Barbecue Town Hall meeting, which was held at the Kleberg Animal and Food Science Center and the Rosenthal Meat Center on Monday, December 12, 2016. Two Barbecue Summer Camps scheduled for 2016

With the tremendous demand for participation in the Barbecue Summer Camp, two camps have been scheduled for 2016. The dates for the camps are June 10-12, 2016 and July 22-24, 2016 and will be held at the Rosenthal Meat Center on the campus of Texas A&M University. Camp Brisket, 2015 version, a success!

The third Camp Brisket, held January 9-10, 2015, was attended by about 100 participants, speakers, and instructors all gathered to learn all they could about the king of Texas Barbecue, the brisket. The two-day program, co-sponsored by Foodways Texas and the Department of Animal Science at Texas A&M University, featured demonstrations, panels, and taste tests allowing everyone to learn more about briskets. The very popular Foodways Texas Barbecue Summer Camp was held at the Rosenthal Meat Center at Texas A&M University on June 6-8, 2014. We had the great pleasure of participating in the 2nd Houston Barbecue Festival, which was held at Reliant Park in Houston on Sunday, April 6, 2014. We took the BBQ Genius Counter set up, and eight of us traveled to Houston for the event: Davey Griffin, Michael Berto, Tyler Rosser, Clay Eastwood, Kaitlyn Porter, Katy Jo Nickelson, and Jackie Savell.
